Well, it'd be worth a shot to swap out the distributors, do some basic electrical tests on the hall sensor, and/or put the thing on a scope whilst you try and run the car.

Also, if these cars got Bosch EZ-K ignition systems, I'd consider swapping out the ignition module (power stage in Volvo speak) with a known good unit. Also make sure that it's fastened to something that can dissipate heat and some sort of thermal compound is used.

As for a fuel issue, have you hooked up a fuel pressure gauge?

Did you swap the ignition and fuel computers at the same time?

What does six flashes mean again?
