I think you will be disappointed eliminating the ac idler
I had my belt really tight and the belt was still slipping and squealing when the ac came on
Granted it is cheaper to replace alt bearings at $5 ea than the ripping that is the genuine ac tensioner
But the real rub is the rubber inside the crank pulley.
I have replaced a couple of these and they are pricy and getting tougher to find
than chicken molars.
I can't remember what the size of the belt was for the 3 pulley deal
I think that a 285-290mm when just doing the crank and alt
I wrapped a tape measure around or a string
But I am very excited about the VW timing belt tensioner modification
aftermarket retail is about $35
If I can find a 10mm dia sleeve with an 8 mm dia hole about 1.20" long
to fill out the tensioner mounting hole along with about a 3/8" thick 8 or 10 mm washer
The job will be perfect.

Subject: [Peugeot-L] Mi16 Alt/Crank/AC Belt Size
Hello,
It seems the idler pulley has fait caca. What is the size of the belt which I should use to loop everything and eliminate the pulley?
Thank you.
