[Peugeot-L] Mi16 Idler Pulley Jerry-Rigged!

Hello,
And, especially to distressed Mi16 owners with the crummy factory idler pulley: I think I've achieved a modicum of success. On the advice of Bob Bruce, I checked at the local jobber. For a mere $41.18, I bought a VW TB tensioner/roller. This one had a hexagonal hole into which the 8 mm bolt fit quite nicely, without a sleeve (10 mm round hole in new unit). I did have to shim the inside of the unit with three washers. I also tried to compensate for the smaller diameter of the pulley by rotating the pulley to its longest use of the belt, but it may have rotated. I'll probably opt for a smaller size belt. I posted pictures to the Photos section. There's also some disagreement about the proper routing of the belt. Mine is routed as in the Haynes photo, if you swap out the power steering unit for my AC. The other method goes, clockwise from the crank, over the alternator, back down and behind the idler pulley and then out to the front over the AC. Which is the approved configuration?
One caveat, if you read the fine print on the box, it says, "Made In France." Bill
