RE: keeping the factory deck.
What kills a good speaker is lack of power. Tip is to start from the the
source. High powered amp/deck is not for the ear blowing sound but for the
high quality sound even at low volume and to keep the speaker from blowing.
If there isn't enough amplication power, deck/amp will run out of steam even
at moderate volume level and sound cliping will occur and this blows the
speaker. Also good quality speaker requires good amount of power to properly
control the cone movement.. The sound basically breaks resulting erratic
cone movement and you have a blown speaker.
If your speaker is already blown and making annoying noise, you need to
replace it but to prevent it from blowing again, replace the deck or add an
amplifier.
