[Peugeot-L] 604 advice

Hi gang!

        I'm looking into buying a 604 that someone has taken the head off of and didn't get around to putting it back on...was just wondering if anyone could advise me on this...am I asking for trouble? Does it take special tools or knowledge to put back on, and are there any particular hazards I should look for before purchasing the car? I have an estimate of about $200 to have the head checked and resurfaced, does that sound right?
Any help with this would be appreciated. Steven
