Thank you guys very much for the advice. I will go over and do all the little tests. I keep asking myself if i just want this car because its a turbo and a 5 speed. The answer is yes, nothing wrong with that right? Now I just need to make sure its THE car for me and there are no problems before buying.

Thanks again! Josh

Radu's advice is good. The cylinder head cracking is the number one problem with N9Tx. If the radiator is new but the head is dirty, look out! Also watch that it doesn't overboost, because that breaks pistons. If they are already broken the engine compartment will be oily, and there would be a lot of puffing if you remove the oil fill cap at idle.

Check the color and smell of the transmission fluid. If it is really dark or smells burnt it could be expensive.

Brakes are only expensive if the car has ABS. Parts specific to the N9Tx are disappearing; especially the large corrugated hose between the AFM and the turbo.

If the car is in good shape though, there is nothing like a 505 turbo.

Good luck!

There is a 505 turbo down the street from me. When I first saw it I liked the "mean" look of the headlights and wanted it. I know better than to just buy it without asking around first. What should I be looking for? What kind of problems do these cars have? WE took a drive in it and it seemed to shift fine, had plenty of power and the car ran good. The body is straight and when I looked over the car quickly I didnt see any rust. It smoked a little on startup but it smelled like gas so I guess its running a little rich. After the test drive there was no smoke at all. The brakes squeaked a little when stopping and I have heard that the brake parts are expensive, anyone have any sources for brakes? Please give me some tips and sugestions and some more info on these cars. I dont know what year it is but Ill go by there again tomorrow and find out.
