[Peugeot-L] Re: What to do with my beloved '88 505 gas-turbo, 5-speed sedan

Apparently all Pug's are not created equal. While I am not saying he needs a lift, the extrication process for my 5 speed from behind an XD2S was not so simple. I could not lower the front cross member as per the factory procedure because the cheep-ass captive nut system gave up the ghost - it was the two under the battery tray and I could not be bothered to try to get them out. In this situation we could see no way to get the gearbox out of the car with the engine in place.  We had to take the whole thing out as an assembly. Not fun but it is just possible if you can get the car high enough and then with the engine/gearbox hanging darn near vertical from an engine crane swing it in or out.

Hope I don't have to do that again!
