Hi all,
I have a problem with my 89 505 V6 with Bosch LH 2.2 Injection and catalytic
converter.
Some time ago, in a dark and rainy night, and in a hurry, I jump-started my
505 after a longer lay-up. Unfortunately I connected the jump leads the wrong
OnOnway round... After that, the car wouldn't run when warm. It starts perfectly
when cold, the engine running smoothly, and pulling strong as ever. After 5
to 10 min, the engine will still idle, but stutters and splutters when under
load, and won't restart (spark is there). Once it has cooled of, everything is
back to normal. For me this seems to be a problem of an over-rich mixture
when warm. Spark plugs were black.
So far I:
- replaced the battery
- replaced the plugs
- replaced engine temp sensor, and checked wires to the ECU
- had both ECUs (injection / ignition) tested, both ok
- replaced TDC/RPM sensor with one of a friend's V6 for testing - same fault
- replaced mass airflow meter with one of a friend's V6 for testing - same
fault
- checked all the plugs from sensors to ECUs
Any more hints what to check? Any help is appreciated.
Best regards from Germany,
Rainer Wilken
