You only torque the head if you don't have the "stretch bolts" Someone else
may know how to identify them from the top. Otherwise: oil change at 2000,
gap rockers every 12000, and torque the head every 25000. It helps to use
fuel addatives to put lubrication back into the fuel in order to lube the
fuel injection pump (Lucas is my preferred brand) Let it warm up before
driving (the alloy aluminum head heats and expands at a different rate than
the cast iron block) Let the turbo spin down about a minute before shut
down, and keep the cooling system in top shape. The latter is the most
important to avoid blowing gaskets. Out here in the very hot Cowlickfornia,
I run a 504 thermostat in the summer (72c) and have recored the radiator
with a 3 tube core (far superior to the factory's) and run middle to hot on
warm days. Fix coolant leaks immediatly, and don't let hoses get old and
blow.
Its a fine engine, I love mine to pieces.
