Richard,
I would stay away from Amsoil or Mobil-1 Use a good a good C rated oil like
Castrol RX Super 15W-40 or Shell Rotella, both of thee se oil
are specially formulated
for use in Diesel Engines.
With a car with as many miles as yours, the engine might develop leaks with
synthetic oils !
