I am in the process of gearing up for my car's California "Test Only"
smog inspection. I cannot bring it to the guy that I generally bring
it to as he is a service place and not a test only facility.
Might anyone out there be aware of any sort of prep that I can do to
better prepare the car for this ordeal? I have recently changed the
four impossible-to-change rubber gaskets that are sandwiched between
the intake manifold and the throttle body, the big rubber intake boot
(thanks Bob Bruce), removed, cleaned and changed the innards of the
breather and checked all vacuum lines.
The car runs pretty well. Is the any sort of gas additive routine
that I might subject it to that will increase its chances to pass?
Also, is there a way to increase the car's idle while it is warming
up? It tends to idle a fraction low until it gets warm and fine after
that.
Thanks,
Ken
