Might be the fuel pump relay. Been there, done that, and this is how
I did it:
First check, in the fuse box, that the fuse is okay. If bad, replace.
If not, then loosen (not remove) the fuel line that runs to the
regulator (from the fuel pump) and, with ignition off, turn it over
(with a wire connected to the little lead on the solenoid touched to
the battery + terminal, CAR IN NEUTRAL). If you get a spray of fuel at
the loosened connection your pump is probably okay, if not, retighten
the fuel line, pull the plastic under the steering wheel and find the
tachymetric relay (most forward and under and to the left of the
steering wheel). Remove relay from its plug and run a jumper wire from
terminal 30 to 87. Put key in ignition and try to start car. If car
starts either relay or its plug (six or seven female plug) are bad.
The plug to my relay was bad. When it got too hot it screwed up. If
I let it sit it would cool down and start. I solved it by removing the
seven pin pigtail wire and installing a six pin relay (cross that
bridge if you get to it).
