Same here Peter,
I have 164k miles on my 87 STI and have never turned the rotors. I agree
100% with you. One thing I do and that is that I always use non metallic
pads. My wife does not drive the car, so the pads last for ever!
With all the cars that I have owned, the first set of rotors that I've
had turned, were on my 85 turbo. They were warped. Now they seem OK for
the time being but probably will have to replace them eventually.
