Hi All, all my 405's (pre 94) are screw in speakers in front doors,
the rears are held with a kind of plastic rivet into the rear shelf (saloon) These rivets
need to be squeezed and pushed up from inside boot
one word of caution, I was fitting some fairly hefty Sonys in the front of mine
yesterday (correct Diameter), and the magnet on the back was almost too big (deep)
to be able to get the speaker in. I managed in the end, I doubt it will ever come out
again :)
one question, one of the cones is scraping, anything I can do?

I beg to differ with you. The last of the 405s came with Italian
marked
speakers that were riveted to metal mounting plates in the rear. I do
not know
about the fronts because I have replaced them, but audio work is best
left to
pros.
