Mmm, just as I thought -- my gentility saved me from disaster. I didn't pour
the heat to it, even as much as I could have with that silly little torch.

This piece will absorb the impact and allow more of the impact force to pop
out the tie rod. It will also prevent any sort of bending damage from
hitting the unsupported arm. They aren't designed to take that kind of
impact so don't hit it with out the striker.

Keep in mind that I (Gene) am the "wimpy whacker"! So my whacks are going to
be gentle at first then bigger next. If the first one gets it, I won't hit
it again for good measure. Also, I'm won't hit that arm on one side with
nothing on the other. When I whack, it is with the shaft on the other side
of the "O." But heed Ben's and Rabin's advice. Two hammers (on opposing
sides) are better than one, as it were. What I do works for me, but maybe
only so far!!!
