Yes! some of these "new goops" are pretty good, maybe better than that. I'm just old enough to be partial to the original gaskets of paper, special fiber, and other materials. It won't surprise me anywhere these new form-in-place materials start to show up in original assembly, replacing at least some of the older gasket materials altogether. It's a new world!
