Just an update to all that inquired about my 89 505. The car has been sold to a fellow in the SF bay area. He maybe joining this group in the future, as I have found it to be a wonderful resource for information from a great group of enthusiasts. I plan on keeping my 81 505 TD for my daily driver, with almost 300,000 miles, it amazes me as to its reliability. Jeff

I've owned the car for two years, and have been in the process of making the car a
9 to10 for my wife, but she has inherited another car from family, and this 505 will have to be sold, as I will not have proper storage for it any longer.
I bought the car from a close friend, who is a huge Citroen collector, as he had purchased it on eBay from another list member here in the group in 2004. The car has had major service done within 3,500 miles, as I can send any requests for the extended list of items that were serviced by the original list member, prior to my friends purchase and mine. The car drives wonderful, I have had other 505's, and this model rides a little firmer than most, but the V6 power is amazing, as no issues keeping with the big boys on the interstate.
I have invested a lot of time and monies into this car. Many trim items were missing when I received the car, which if you know how rare this last generation body style is, most exterior parts are absolute. The exterior side moldings have been removed, as they are bulky, and were covering a few blemishes on the driver side doors. The exterior of the car has been repainted in a few areas, and really could use an entire respray to make it right. I suspect the car was never garaged prior to my ownership, as the interior has some fading on the fabric interior of the rear back seat and the tops of the door panels. The interior overall is the nicest I have seen. If you know 505's, there is minor surface rust, beginning on the front portion of the inner fenders (a common place) otherwise the car rust free.
Overall, this 505 is not perfect, but is presentable and the vin number can be run through car fax to verify its history.
