A week ago my son and I were on a CDN smart car club outing in the BC
interior - Nelson and Ymir - with about 20 other smart cars. One of
the things we did was take the Kootenay Lake Ferry from Balfour to
Crawford Bay (free ferry, the best kind). On this ferry was a very
nice 1987 505 STX with Euro lights. The owner was from Vancouver,
where they bought the car for $1400 a while ago.
Then in Nelson I saw a rusty but still serviceable 504 sedan
Automatique, 1976 (hence 30 years old!!) and had a chat with the
owner too. He also has a Renault 12. Hardcore.
I have been in Vancouver for several days over the past few weeks and
there have been ZERO Peugeots to be seen. I hope to rectify that in
June, when I will try to see Philippe Man'ach and his 404 Cabriolet
and 403 Cabriolet.
I could go to White Rock Sports and Import today before going home to
Vancouver Island, but they rarely have anything interesting. Maybe I
will go, anyway.....
