Any luck with that cruise control?

The cruise control on my '89 505S (ZDJL) has been squirrelly for several years. But every time I think it's finally gone, I find I can make it work again by cycling the main switch over and over, while trying to engage the cruise control with the stalk between each click of the button.

I've got a replacement main switch on the desk in front of me (new old stock, dealer number 03378--I wonder who that was...). Curious about the terminal assignments, I put an ohmmeter across various pairs of terminals. I was amazed how much the meter would jump around when measuring the resistance of what I believe were closed contacts--5-Ohms to infinity and everything in between, just from tapping on the body of the switch. I think I'll be hosing it down with contact cleaner before I swap it in.

Good luck,
