Here's a tip. In my ever-long quest to make my 505 Lexus-like quiet, I've tackled the squeak/rattle issue pretty well. The cars seem to have to factory protection against plastic rubbing up against adjacent materials, be they plastic, metal or whatever.

Go to the hardware store and buy yourself a can of Plasti-Dip. Read about it here: www.plastidip.com.

Then, whenever you have a panel off for whatever reason, take the time to clean it and apply a discreet bead of this stuff on the surfaces that contact other areas. Works like a charm and if you're not messy, you'll not see it when the pieces are re-assembled.

Aha, I don't want to disappoint, but the problem does sound more like an interior trim issue....

Ahh, what the hell, check the trailing arm bearings too!

My 405 was noisy today - every plastic piece inside was chatting loudly with its neighbour, and not just on the bumps...
