The scenario... My torque tube is bolted to
differential, 2 bolts/cap screws holding
differential to frame have been removed,
exhaust system hangers are undone, 4 female
bolts mating torque tube to ZF3HP22 extension
housing have been removed. With all this I can't
move drive shaft far enough back to clear
tranny. As it stands now, I believe I can see
the end of drive shaft just barely beyond
extension seal. The tube has been moved aft
approx. 4 inches.
The questions...should I be looking to move the
tube farther aft?{spare tire has been removed, tire
Oncarrier is down for added clearance} ...I tried to
move shaft with tube, but does it sound like I
could have messed up, and now the spring in the
rear of the drive shaft has fallen out and
preventing me from obtaining mecessary clearance?
I understand that without being here to look
no one can really know what is actually going on,
but if you have attacked these tubes before
your insight will be a hell of a lot better than
mine.
Would spinning one wheel{only} while feeling no
rotation in shaft be proof that rear of shaft{and
spring} has come undone?
