I'd suggest keeping the stock boost control system in tact, and just use it in-line with the bleeder you have setup now.

What kind of boost controller is it your using? is there a website?

As James said, you have to be really careful with adjusting boost.. keep a close eye on the boost gauge when your going for your initial boost run.

5 or 6psi is probably what the wastegate is doing alone, which means your bleeder isn't doing anything. Adjust (in small increments) your bleeder for more boost. How much are you wanting to run anyway?
