Relay has 4 terminals. Most are marked stating which two are the switched terminals and which two are the field. In mine, switched terminals were bigger that th field ones.

Field connects to earth and to the cable that comes from the ignition switch. Switched terminals go to battery positive and to the solenoid terminal on the starter. I did not run a new cable from the bat. Just connected the terminal to the starter where the cable from the battery comes to.

Never had another problem.
