I'd have to both agree and disagree with Brian...
18" is likely too big for the 505 Turbo - but I disagree about the 16" being the max. I checked out all the available tire options as well as wheel options, and the 17" wheel seems perfect.
I personally like the look of a stock car with stuffed wheel wells filled with race rubber. Rubber bands on big wheels doesn't do it for me at all.
My choice is some 17 x 8.5" wheels with Falken Azenis tires (235 40's maybe?)... I *should* be able to use H&R 25mm spacers for the BMW and get them machined to fit the 4x140 pattern on the Peugeot. It's that - or I redrill the hub to 5x120 and use the spacers untouched.
If you use a 5 series 7" BMW wheel, spacing *should* be perfect and you simply need to get the hubs re-drilled (5x120). If your using another wheel pattern - can't help you very much myself - but there are specs floating around for adapters using a 4x100 Honda bolt pattern. (adapter ends up being 38 mm wide which was a bit much for me though)
Good luck with the project - and make sure to take lots of pictures!
