Re: [Peugeot-L] Ludicrous mod's vs. oem functionality

I'm one of those purists who does NOT like anything aftermarket. I just think that it takes away from the original beauty of the car! If the car had 15" alloys, then that's what should stay. Normally, the size of the wheel is tastefully complimentary to the proportions of the vehicle as is the style of the rim itself. I think that even the original stock radio is the best. In the seventies and eighties Peugeot paid a lot of people a lot of money to design and style the 505 thorough out its life-cycle, and they are the experts. The car may not be 100 % perfect, but if that's how it was originally then I will keep my car that way (except for original dealer accessories of course!).

On...but that's just my opinion...

The car already came with a lowered suspension, leaving not much to be desired from a handling performance standpoint... [see Road & Track issues of the late 80's]. The stock n9te was very 'streetable'. One could improve heat dissipation under the hood or drill the ventilated brake rotors and equip the car with good tires... but 18" wheels -chrome probably [?]... seems far less beneficial than let's say a good tune-up...
