Being an avid rider at the time, I recall the Pirsig's 'maintenance'
coverage being a bit lame... but the book certainly was fun to read.
One could substitute 505 for the BMW twin pushrod boxer engine, and
thus become the laughing stock of 'the Joneses of Consumerdom', who can
[hopefully soon] trade in their thirsty leased Hummers, Expeditions and
OnAvalanches for the latest Chery 'Made in China'...
while the rest of us will be stuck with those old 505's [here Sartre
comes to mind... 'Huis clos']
See, the cars are just a means... so go ahead and put on any size
wheels you please as long as nobody gets hurt [lol]!
