[Peugeot-L] Proper priming for 505 SD fuel filter?

Hello group-

I just changed the fuel filter in my 1980 505 SD (purflux filter w/aluminum housing), and I was wondering what the correct way is to prime and bleed the system now. So far, I started the car, pumped the plastic bubble up and down a bunch of times, and opened a bleeder bolt on top until fuel came out. Is this good enough? Thanks!!!
