Some years ago the gas pedal in my 504 started giving some trouble
about coming back up when released. Not as dramatic as Marje's sitch--I
could hook my toe under it and lift it. But after a couple weeks of
this, the throttle cable snapped and stranded me. Fortunately it didn't
choose real bad time and place to do it.
