Installing two V6s together is nothing new for marine and industrial engines
to obtain a V12. GMC used to have a highway tractor set up this way when gas
was cheap. Two distributors and carburators, one starter and alternator
(generator for the early models). It was easier to synchronise four carbs on
a four cylinder than to get those engines pulling together.
