Re: [Peugeot-L] Replacement Radiators for 86 505 TD -Autobox

Not replying to my own post, but I did get an email back from previous owner, bob Bartch (does anyone remember him from days of yore on Peugoet L?)

"OK, the radiator shop I went to said it was a "serpentine core" which I think means that the water comes in one side and then reaches the other end and does a 180 and goes back and forth that way. To me that means that if you pulled off the tanks, you would NOT see holes going thru the core (that could be "rodded") , but instead you would see a bunch of curled over tubes pretty much like you do on AC condensers. Looking back I see you said " re cored". Well nobody that I could find had a core for it, only "new" radiators at $500 (yikes). Now one thing I noticed from going to the Santa Cruz website  was that the 85 and 86 were different radiators even though both had the 2.5 liter, so…. I think the 85 did not have enough radiator for the 2.5 engine. In Europe yes, but not in CA where it's hotter. In fact, the US bumpers go down much lower than Euro bumpers and block a lot of needed air as well, making an airdam critical."

so I guess it can't be rerodded or recored, or re...
