'6 flashes' (-from the manual,):
Causes:
#1. Connections and wiring between Ignition ECU and potentiometer
defective.
or,
#2. no load signal emanating from the injection ECU.
Checks:
#1 Continuity of the potentiometer's (194) electrical circuit.
#2. Electrical circuit continuity between pin 8 of Ignition ECU (171)
and pin 6 of the Injection ECU (181) (wire 6).
Check with a new Ignition ECU (171).
Check with a new Injection ECU (181).
It's probably #1, something amiss with the potentiometer or the
microswitch on the throttle body.
The microwitch wiring is also daisy chained through the overboost
switch which sits on the intake pipe just above the distributor. Make
sure all wires are connected.
