I was talking to the dealer today and they were quite helpful. Parts were not too bad. I had them try and quote for fitting as well. Their timings for the work is about 4 hours per side, giving a labour bill of just over 500 pounds for both.

They warned me that it is quite possible I would have worn surfaces. Costs are in the order of 2000 pounds for replacement parts before they would be able to get the car off the hoist.

The dealer did say that they were able to realign and set the suspension for me providing I get it roughly correct to begin with.

I have thought about this. Worst case, this is a valid option. The downside is that I could have the same problems again in 6 months time. I would also like to be able to fit the grease nipples Mike is so fond of.
