Last weekend I popped off the water pump on my '85 N9T to track down
an annoying leak. I was hoping to find a damaged gasket but instead I
found no gasket. Well, hopefully that was an easy fix! Aside from
not putting a gasket back whomever was there before did not even do a
very good job of cleaning the matting surfaces. It is amazing that
the leak was not bigger than it was.
While I am putting everything back I noticed that all my power
steering fluid seems to have leaked out. How odd I thought, "did not
notice a leak before". On investigation it seems that the fluid
leaked out one of the rear mounting bolts (closest to the block).
Does the passage for this bolt pass through to the fluid reservoir.
Well, I guess mine does, but is it supposed to? Seems odd to me.
