With the 504, the tunnel in the Auto was bigger than in the manual to accommodate the bulkier box. This means that when you do a conversion, and change from two pedals to three pedals in the footwell, things start to get a little tight, and the big footed will find it too easy to press two pedals at once with one foot.
Someone will no doubt be able to confirm/deny a similar model difference for the 505.
