[Peugeot-L] Seats, octane, 505 STX mi16 power steering

I believe that this has been discussed before. My stx has dead periods on the power steering. Fluid is ok but it will go for a while with no power steering and then it will resume working? Is that likely a rack or pump problem.

I guess I need to replace the belt on the mi16. I've had it tightened several times and it returns soon to squealing. I've tried some belt dressing but it hasn't seemed to work. I guess I need to find the time to fix it once and for all. Anyone else have this problem?

Will seats from a pre 86 car fit in a 86 and newer car? Does anyone know? I found some nice velour seats from a td that I'm thinking of getting to replace the hardened and torn leather ones in my 87 stx-if they fit.

Thanks in advance. Fred, nice to hear about 87 octane. Is that other's experience with turbo's and stx's?

Rulon
