Let us speak not of splintering and scattering. The lurking presence and
occasional input of each of us is what makes it possible for all to keep
these marvelous and occasionally troublesome vehicles in our yards and
garages -- even occasionally running! -- even occasionally running well!!
I have as much frustration with Yahoo as anyone, currently mostly on other
lists and services. It seems impossible to get a response from a real
human(oid) at Yahoo, when there is a problem. It is as if we would be like
Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, astounded when Toto pulls down the curtain
revealing the Wizard, astounded to find that there is no Oz, only this odd
old guy trying valiantly to run the whole show from his little booth. Maybe
that is what is going on at Yahoo.
As to the mechanics of this list, I share the frustration of those who want
to reply to the list without replying in addtion to the sender of the note
being answered. [That sender does need two replies to her/his note!] But I
accept this as one of Yahoo's idiosyncrasies, compounded, I might add by the
mail programs of many of us that don't have a simple button for "Reply to
On... whatever list ..." We have to go through several machinations to get the
recipient we want and only that recipient into the "To" line. [Great sigh]
But it still is better than snail mail or conference calls. Nothing is
perfect in this still the most perfect of all imperfect worlds, and
everything I do with my computer and my internet communications media is
imperfect to prove the point (to me, at least).
One good thing -- I do not have to crawl under my computer with a sawzall to
get some recalcitrant part removed. [Although there are times ...]
Hang in, guys and gals! There is always hope -- in our case, hope that Bill
Gates and the Wizard of Yahoo yet will fix these distasteful communications
issues sometime before the last of our Peugeots makes its final trip to
oblivion.

don't use them nearly as mcuh as this one (or other lists I'm on) because
you have to go out of your way to acccess them. Many of us have email on
all day and every time someone on this list sends a message, I see it
instantly. Very handy and it makes it that much easier to stay involved.
That's the way the LandCruiser list is set up and people are talking back
and forth all day long. That is one of the most productive car groups out
there.
>
> I agree that we're on the verge of splintering and scattering a tiny group
of Peugeot owners. I own 4 of these cars and can't work on them myself. For
20 years I've been plagued by the most incompetent mechanics from Washngton
DC to upstate New York and most places in between. Without this group,
well-meaning supporters of the marque like me would have to trash these
cars. Even getting parts is often impossible with recourse to this list.
