Ok. Can that default setting be changed? How is that done?

Responding to a digest responds to a digest with anywhere from 10 to 25 topics. I don't see how you canrespond to one topic within a digest. I don't have any issues with the list the way it is other than the default reply to setting and the search function.

With your set-up you have no way of responding to a particular email when you get them in digest form? I'm on several digests and I can respond through them.
What I'm getting at is that it's a pretty drastic "remedy" to move this list to a forum simply because you don't want to get individual emails. Many of us actually prefer the individual emails so we can get info and commentary in "real time". Hey, it's a free country - and to each his own - but I'm not sure it's fair to change the format over such a concern. And I really think it's silly to break this group up. We have a critical mass of Peugeot owners and it doesn't make much sense for any of us to go off in another direction. Some of us need all the help we can get.

I get the digest form and not individual emails so that I don't get bombarded with emails. If there is something I want to reply to, then I log onto the web to reply. That's when the non intuitive settings screw me up.

Steve:
Just asking - how come you don't reply to the email using the email instaed of switching over to web? I'm confused. BOB

I have a few email clients, one of which I use to receive the list digest so I don't get bombarded with list emails contantly. If I see something interesting in the digest, I log onto the web to reply. That's where trouble starts for me because of the non intuitive settings..

I'm curious how many members use the web interface?

I personally can't understand why anyone would put them through the torture of using the web interface. I've only used it on holidays and while using computers that weren't mine to post to. I hate it.

If there are only very few you use the web interface, and they have computer access, then it seems logical that it would be much easier for those few people to use a mail client of some sort.

If there are significant numbers - then it would make sense for the list to make the change. Those of us who are comfortable with using e-mail can easily change our habit of reply or reply all. (Although I have to agree with Brian - Reply and Reply All are more intuitive when using a proper e-mail client)

I'm personally not concerned either way - but this silly topic REALLY needs to get resolved before it gets annoying. (Might even be too late!!)

The answer might be forums, or another mail list client - but hopefully some sort of resolution is needed and quick!
