Do you get any warning lights at the same time? SOunds like a short
though, as I can't see the oil over heating and the rest of the motor
not. MIne had the same trouble, but was cured with a new oil temp
sensor.
Does the 'oil temp ' gauge go up gradually, or does it go right to
red when you start the car? In either case, it could be a bad oil
gauge in the I/P.
