[Peugeot-L] 404 67 Cuts out when hot

Hi fellow enthusiasts,  

I have a problem with a 67 404: The car starts ok when cold, and runs smoothly, but when hot after running for 20 - 30 min it suddenly starts to run rough and cuts out. It won't restart until cooled off for 30 min. It's like 0 or 1, running or not running, start or no start - nothing like poor running or even trying to fire in between.  

There's a spark, there is fuel to the carb, and so far I have changed the spark plugs, HT leads, distributor cab and rotor, points, condenser, coil. Battery is new and turns engine over quickly.  

Does anyone has any hints what the problem could be and what to check?
