Sorry it has taken me so long to send a reply to your Ithaca
question. I hope it wasn't a serious problem that triggered your
question. Here's some places to try:
- AJ Foreign Car Service - I've never taken any of my cars to
them because they used to have a less than sterling reputation, but
I've seen in recent ads that they are under new ownership. They used
to service Peugeots regularly. A former owner was the brother of the
owner of Garage De France - the now long gone Peugeot dealer - and I
believe one or more of the Peugeot mechanics may have moved to AJ
when GdeF closed.
- Triphammer Mobil - maybe not for engine rebuilds, but they seem
to be capable; sometimes hard to get appointments there.
- Somewhere in Freeville, I think, is a AAA garage that hauled my
87 to Morris Auto Service in Rochester 5 or 6 years ago for an
alternator replacement. The driver said that they had a customer with
a Peugeot that they took care of. The name of the garage may be Whyte's.
