The 15 year rule is good, but we've been getting a rash of Japanese
market vehicles over here recently, ALL of which have unconverted
headlights which systematically blind the drivers on the LH side of
the road. There are about 20 in the small town where I work, all
micro-vans and Land Cruisers. I include the lame 110 HP 1.9 L 205 GTI
that White Rock S&I (now KIA) was trying to sell for WAY too much
money a couple of years ago; although it was LHD, the headlights were
not.
At a minimum, these things should be required to put masking over the
inappropriate part of the low beam pattern, on the lens.
OnI think I'll write Transport Canada over this.....
