[Peugeot-L] Wiring a tacho in a 504?

Hi, P-L people..

Could anybody out there explain to me, in layman's English, how to wire a second-hand tacho to a 1978 504 wagon (petrol)? We sold our dear old "Kitty" to a friend, and I'd only just installed it where the clock Onwas... I'd like to get it going for him.
