[Peugeot-L] thanks to Bob Bruce & Brian Holm

Hi Brian and Bob;

Well - I incorrectly assumed it was the relay not sending 12v to the pump, but actually it was a bad ground wire. A continuity tester showed the ground carrying juice but not apparently enough to allow the pump to run. That is what took a while to figure out. The spade lug connection, though clean, was not tight enough and therefore would not allow enough current to pass. So of course I thought it was the relay........

Thanks for helping me out - I always appreciate help from you guys... Tom Woods

Tom

It sounds like the tachymetric relay. 83 and 84 are the same. They didn't go to the Bosch until 86. I have a new one. Or if you prefer, I have the conversion kit to adapt it to the Bosch relay which is more reliable.
