[Peugeot-L] Coolant System question for the 505 V-6

Anyone experimented with a coolant recovery bottle that is more shallow and above the coolant level of the radiator for a 505 V-6. My system, even though it never overheats since a recoring of my radiator and replacement water pump about 3 years ago, in these hot and humid summer months in the notheast the weather has been been hard on my cooling system lately. The coolant bottle partially fills when hot, but never gets drawn back into the radiator as it cools down. Removing the bleed screw or taking off the coolant bottle cap resolves the drainng issue immediately.

I think a shallow bottle, one that is above or at the level of the radiator would fill as a recovery device but allow it to drain back into the radiator once it cools down. I have an Audi V-6 5 speed with a coolant bottle that is exactly what I am thinking about. I might try this experiment myself and let you all know.
