[Peugeot-L] Braking 505 turbo diesel wagon

Hi, I was wanting to ask a question about the braking performance on my wagon. When you apply the brakes there is a distinct shuddering/shaking of the steering and as you slow down you can feel the brakes kind of pulsing, but quite slowly. As you come to a stop you can still feel the brakes catching and releasing, almost like you were pumping the brakes softly.

For the longest time I thought maybe one of the front rotors was out of whack but now I'm wondering if my car has ABS and it's not working properly. It's a 1985 S model.

I've had most of the suspension bushings replaced in the front and also the ball joints and tie rod ends so I know that can't be the problem. Is there a fairly easy way to detect out of round rotors?? or is there an ABS connector I can disconnect?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

cheers

Richard
