You will not get an accurate reading unless the motor is hot/warm
and you will not know much unless you can do it a second time with oil
The reason the compression is staying up is because there is a vavlve in the tester
that holds the guage at the maximun pressure the cylinder gets to
you don't want to "pour' oil in only a couple squirts from a pump oil can

Subject: [Peugeot-L] N9TE Compression Problems
Ok I just did another test with the throttle wide open, got 120 on
first, then 90, 130, 130... Its looking a little better as it was
120, 80, 130, 90 before. I didn't have any oil to try pouring down
the plug hole... but I'm imagining that the rings are possibly bad
from sitting outside without being cranked over for so long. Each
cylinder builds pressure fairly quick (2-3 cranks) and they all hold
well. What is the stock compression supposed to be on this engine?
Also does anyone know where to get exhaust header bolts and nuts, can
I get them from home depot or do I need OEM parts?
Thanks,
Mike
