They can be removed and rebuilt for significantly less. Talk to a local
brake shop. I had my 404 and 505s' done for a little over $100 each at
Yerby Brakes in Sacramento, CA. I had to ship to and from because of work
conflict. They are very professional and reasonably priced. There are no
DIY kits that I know of, but the diaphram can be custom made at the brake
shops' supplier.
