Hi, want to throw a question out there and see what people think. I
have purchased a new MGB oil cooler for my 505 TD wagon, it is
slightly longer and the fittings come straight out as opposed to the
original Peugeot item where the fittings come out at a right angle. So
if I mount it in the same position as the old one I have about 2" of
hose fittings hanging off the bottom of the cooler, which brings the
fittings lower than the crossmember, which is hardly ideal. I was
wondering where else I could mount the oil cooler while still having
good flow over it for cooling. Could I mount it in front of the
radiator by attaching it to the sheetmetal that slopes down towards
the grill, kinda where the AC fan/cooler would go, if you know where I
mean. Does the fan push air out of the engine bay or does it pull air
through the radiator into the engine bay?? If I mounted the oil cooler
just behind the grill would there be enough air flow over it to
provide enough of a cooling effect with comparison to the original
mounting position??
any thoughts anyone??
cheers
Richard
