Re: [Peugeot-L] Experience in rebuilding a V-6Steering Rack?

Peter,

It looks as if it is the pinionvalve leaking into the rack through the lower seal. It really doesn't pay to try to rebuild the aluminum pinionvalves with new seals because the body usually needs sleeving where the o-rings ride. Also the top seal is staked in, not secured with a c-clip like the iron pinionvalves before '84. A rebuilt rack is quite a lot less expensive than a new pinionvalve, includes inner tie rods and comes with a lifetime warranty, so that is what I recommend. The V6/ABS rack with variable steering can be hard to find. I have one in stock, though.
