Brian,
Thanks for the help. Several people have offered me solicited advice
regarding adjusting the lever. I understand where to put the weight
and how to use a feeler gauge. I was wondering, since I have no ramp
or pit, how I can make the adjustment without having to cut myself in
half lengthwise (so that I can fit under the car with it simply being
in my garage).
Is there any way that I can set the car on a pair of drive-up ramps (I
have a pair) and then simply jack up the front at the x-member? I can
roll the car a few yards backwards and forwards and then back it onto
the ramps and then lift the front until it is level with the rear.
Does this make sense?
Also, do you think it is okay to drive the car 5 miles to a friend's
place that has a ramp and will let me use it during their lunch hour
for the three minutes it will take to make the adjustment?
